TRANSforming With Resliency

Keith Taylor, Researcher, Grand Canyon UniversityAs the United States’ laws integrate for transgender inclusion, more and more research is being conducted on the methods and reasons in which trans-individuals seek medical and mental health services. The emerging social equality for the sexual minority population includes the freedom of marriage, occupational health benefits and even military service. These social evolutions create a demand for understanding the unique needs of the transgender population. Research focused on improving trans-centered treatments by understanding individual ecology, social needs and future barriers can decrease health disparities within the trans-population.
