The LGBTQ+ Institute at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights cultivates the next generation of advocates by engaging our most dynamic and diverse community leaders and organizations committed to human dignity.

We do this by connecting LGBTQ+ history to our Present advocacy, and by facilitating educational initiatives, social programming, and civic engagement with a particular focus on the U.S. South.

The LGBTQ+ Institute has selected its 2024 Advisory Board! We Proudly welcome the most diverse group of leaders To date who are demonstrating a commitment to share their gifts to support our mission.

“The South is under attack most often when it comes to anti-LGBTQ legislation. The Center allows us to shine a light, serve as a convener, amplify grassroots campaigns, and be a home for advocates.”
